KAPALBHATI – This cleansing process is related to respiratory system. It also affects all the parts of the respiratory system (From nose to Alveoli).
Technique of Kapalbhati
Any meditative posture can be adopted for the practice of Kapalbhati. Padmasana is the best preferred because the triangular base formed gives more stability and also it enables to maintain the erect posture of the spine. After adopting the posture, one should observe the normal breathing. The technique of Kapalbhati is to start with forceful exhalation continued with smooth inhalation through both the nostrils. Urbanisation and civilised society has lead to the growth of digestion related disease. Most common of them is Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. Many a times, it is difficult to detect this disease and we fall in the trap of wrong treatment. In this disease, although the food gets digested but the intestines are unable to absorb the elements present in the digested food i.e. vitamins, glucose, calcium, etc, because of which the body becomes weak there is deficiency of blood, weakness in the bones and muscles. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is also called as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), CFIDS – Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, PVFS – Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome etc.
What is the etiology for ME?
- Nobody knows the causes of CFS, but scientists are investigating whether it is related to virus, stress, food substances (or) allergy, toxicity, nutritional deficiency, psychological dysfunction.

Cancer : What is it and how it occurs?
Cancer is an uncontrolled growth of the cells in the body. The cells in the body have the prefixed span of life. Normally, as the cell ages, it undergoes a process of programmed cell death, called as apoptosis, which is controlled by the genetic material (DNA) present in the nucleus of each cell. Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease commonly known as Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome is a complex hormonal disorder where there is presence of high levels of male hormones – androgens, an irregular or no menstrual cycle and may have many small cysts in their ovaries. The exact cause of PCOD is not determined but research to date suggests that insulin resistance could be a leading cause. Since some women with PCOD make too much insulin, it is possible that the ovaries react by secreting too much of male hormones called androgens. Thyroid disorders are more common with aging. Women are at greater risk than men. The thyroid problem may arise in the case of a person with family history of thyroid disease or persons living in iodine deficient area. Over-consumption of turnips, and soya products aggravates the problem. Thyroid disease may lead to infertility, menstrual irregularity, lower I.Q. in a child and depression.
The thyroid gland, measuring about 5 cms is located in the lower part of the neck below the Adam’s apple. It is wrapped around the wind pipe (Trachea) and has the shape of a butterfly since it is formed by two wings (lobes) attached in the middle by isthmus. Normally, thyroid gland cannot be seen. If it becomes enlarged (goiter), doctors can feel it easily and a prominent bulge may appear below or to the sides of the Adam’s apple. (more…)
Paralysis is the loss of the capacity of voluntary movement in some parts of the body, like the hands, legs or torso making the patient to become explicitly dependent on some one else to accomplish the most routine of tasks.
The loss of voluntary movement is accompanied by numbness, or loss of sensation, in the affected part. Thus the patient does not feel any pain or changes like heat, cold, etc. in the paralyzed part of the body.
In due time, the circulation and other metabolic activities of the affected part may come to stop there by causing atrophy (degenerate) and change in the shape of the affected part. (more…)
